  • Received a letter today saying the surgeries will be merged on 1 July 2015 and that information from Grosvenor Road and the Alexandra Surgery were enclosed, which details the improvements to services available (but they were not enclosed). They will jointly run their clinics from the Alexandra Surgery premises, and you will see a doctor of your choice.

I had noticed that one doctor had left some time ago (Dr.Putris) and the other two were aging. The premises are not ideal and there were unused rooms. Getting a home visit was almost impossible, but I do not know how it will be after they merge.

    • Thanks, I also received a letter which said that information was enclosed, but none were.

    • We have now received our letter about the merger - but again, no details are enclosed about 'improvements to the services'. The letter also spuriously tells us we can choose another GP practice - but we have no choice, being outside the catchment area of all other GP practices. Presumably the GP practices decide on their catchment areas without consulting each other, and with no overarching scheme - ?

    • Not sure what's going on...I am concerned that the practice site won't be large enough to accommodate all the doctors and receptionists, plus Practice Manager and other auxiliary staff.
