Fox problem

We seem to have developed a problem with foxes on Crescent Road. We and our close neighbours were awoken on a number of occasions during the night by foxes squealing and we have now suffered damage to our back fence.We had previously experienced almost daily damage to and defamation in our flower beds but had assumed this was being done by neighbourhood cats.In any event it is clear that we have a problem with foxes. In my view they have been encouraged by shops and people in the flats at the Crescent Road / Palace Gates Road junction leaving rubbish bags outside. These are often torn open overnight and their contents scattered on the street.I have looked at the Haringey council website and it says the council does not deal with foxes. I would be grateful for any suggestions or advice on how to deal with this.Thank you

Hi Hadson we also live on Crescent road and are experiencing the same problems with foxes. The fox is living in the undergrowth of ivy that's covering the factory at the back. We've seen him come out several times and there are signs of a den in the passage at the back of the gardens.
You're right the there is a ready source of food from the streets and bins at the back of the shops,which they drag into the gardens and tear apart.
The council dont offer any support so our best option is to work together to make the area less appealing for foxes.
We could clear the alley way of the undergrowth, (perhaps the council would help here.)
Speak to shop owners to make sure bins are locked so foxes can't pick food out, I've cleared up a lot of Mickeys wrappers.
iI read the if you keep. Leading g the mess the leave and sluice the area to get rid of the strong scent that they leave this helps to deter them too. I've been using hot water and fabric conditioner, smells lovely!
This is the start of the mating season so the disturbance will only continue and if they mate and settle it will get worse. There are clear rules that you mustn't harm them just deter them to settle elsewhere.
Hopefully we can work together to solve this, I've been up since 4.30am women by their antics!
