I have been told by a Network Rail spokesperson, in an e-mail, that they had 'no obligation to consult' over the replacement of the Dagmar Road fence.  They also seem to think that 'pre notifying' residents was sufficient.

Cllr Liz McShane and I take the view that this high-handed approach is deeply alienating to the local community.  Network Rail are a publicly accountable organisation.  They may not have been obliged to consult but it would have shown good faith.  These decisions greatly affect the quality of life of people living on the street.
