New U3A in this area?

A friend in North London U3A has told me that there are plans to set up a new U3A covering this area i.e. Alexandra Park, Crouch End and parts of Hornsey and Muswell Hill. I haven't heard anything about this or seen any advertisements. Does anyone know anything about it and if so can you give me a contact point. Many thanks, Sheri

  • The inaugural meeting of the Crouch End and District U3A will be held on Wednesday 27 September, at the Moravian Church Hall, Priory Road, 10.30-12.30: doors open 10.00.

If you are retired, semi-retired or no longer in full-time employment and live in Alexandra Park, Crouch End, Fortis Green, Highgate, Hornsey, Muswell Hill or Stroud Green, and are looking to meet new people and engage in a whole range of enjoyable and challenging activities, both mental and physical, come along and find out what groups are being set up, talk to the steering committee and join your local University of the Third Age.

  • Two people - Ed Allen and Pauline ?Wise - at the APN Summer Gathering were talking about the new U3A starting up in this area in the autumn. They have, I think, been involved in setting it up, and will post something on this website about it.

  • I rather thought the North London U3A already covered the areas you mentioned. You could try contacting John Hajdu, who lives locally and is involved in U3A. His email address is hajdu.clarion@talk21.com. His and other contact details can be found on this website: http://www.nlu3a.org.uk/
