From Haringey Friends of the Earth:
"Our councils should play a vital role on the environment: reducing carbon emissions, tackling air pollution, regulating traffic, protecting green spaces and wildlife, controlling new development, investing pension funds.
But given the other pressures they face, they will not deliver on this agenda unless they see pressure from voters.
This hustings meeting is jointly organised by Friends of the Earth groups in Haringey, Highgate Climate Action Network, Muswell Hill Sustainability Group, and Sustainable Haringey. We have invited one person from each party standing (as at 3 April).
Chair: Fran Acheson, BBC journalist
Conservative Party: invited, tbc;
Green Party: Jarelle Francis
Labour: Councillor Peray Ahmet;
Liberal Democrats: Councillor Bob Hare.
Entrance is free but there will be a collection to cover room hire costs, suggested minimum £2 per person.
Drinks can be bought in the cafe/bar on the ground floor.
