Just to let you know that yesterday James Patterson and I wrote to Network Rail and Thames Govia (Great Northern) to request an urgent meeting to discuss the arbitrary closing of the footbridge access which is causing lots of inconvenience to both residents & passengers.

We will keep you updated on any developments!

Rgds,

Liz

  • They don't seem to have learnt their lesson with plans to close it again in September....

  • There's a notice on both sides of the access gate to say that it's temporarily closed "due to a trip hazard". Although there's a small difference in the levels, the greater trip hazard is the steep slippery slope at the Bedford Road entrance (particularly at the moment with the leaves, and on frosty mornings). The footbridge could do with resurfacing in a non-slip surface (as used on the stairs). There seems to be no valid reason for the continued closure so please lobby for reopening as soon as possible. Thanks.
