Vigils and events for Gaza in London – Summer 2025

Given the desperate plight of the people in Gaza, members of the Alexandra Palace Neighbours website may be interested in attending vigils and events for Gaza in London this summer.

“The scale of the violence and harm to civilians is unprecedented and unlike anything in living memory.” (Quakers in Britain)

Below are some suggestions, along with a link to an Oxfam post about how to help. It also provides resources to learn more about Israel, Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territory.

Medical Aid for Palestinians – take on a challenge and help raise money for MAP. The sign-up page is here.

The Big Ride for Palestine is an initiative by supporters of the Palestinian people that combines a love of cycling with practical solidarity and awareness raising. It has been running for 10 years and has raised over £300,000.

Rides take place in London, Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle.  Book here to take part in a ride.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign holds marches and events. Two events coming up in London in August:

  • Day of Action – Stop Starving Gaza – Pots and Pans Protests – Friday, 1 August, 6pm. Details here 
  • In Solidarity: A Celebration of Palestinian Culture – Saturday, 9 August, 4-8pm. Fundraiser for Grassroots Gaza which provides direct aid to Palestinians displaced within Gaza and Egypt. There will be live performances, workshops to take part in, as well as stalls hosted by Palestinian business owners and local community groups. Cafe Metro in Archway will be cooking up traditional Palestinian food for purchase, as well sweet treats, fruit, and BDS-friendly drinks. Women in Black vigil for Gaza: Euston. The London group gathers every Saturday from 12-1 for their Gaza vigil outside Friends House, opposite Euston station.

Women in Black is a world-wide network of women committed to peace with justice and actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence.  Link to page here.

    • I am planning to attend some vigils and events. If anyone is interested in meeting up, please direct-message me. For those who can’t attend Women in Black Gaza-focused vigils that are held each Saturday from 12-1pm outside Friends House on Euston Road, they also hold a vigil every Wednesday from 6-7pm at the Edith Cavel statue, on St Martins Lane opposite the Portrait Gallery (The Wed vigil subjects are Israel, Palestine, Gaza, and war and militarism including the Arms fair in London in September.)
