I came across by chance this post on Harringay Online about planned cuts to the libraries' budget in Haringey. No libraries would be closed, but they would all be made self-service only, with reduced standards of operation.
The post is from the Friends group for Stroud Green and Harringay Library, who learned about the planned cuts at a meeting on 11 December (together with other Haringey Libraries' Friends groups) with the relevant Haringey Cabinet member Emily Arkell and council officers:
Comments on the Council's Budget proposals can be made here:

and/or email local ward councillors Cllr. Alessandra Rossetti, Cllr. Sarah Elliott (alessandra.rossetti@haringey.gov.uk and sarah.elliott@haringey.gov.uk) and the Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities & Leisure, Emily Arkell at Emily.Arkell@haringey.gov.uk
I used to be a member of the Supporters of Alexandra Park Library (SAPL), when they ran lots of interesting activities (which were advertised on APN). But it doesn't look as if they are a functioning group now, even though the library has benefitted very much from the recent refurbishment - a real shame.

Just come across a new support programme for public libraries facing financial challenges, by a group called Libraries Connected:
