It seems that Government cuts in support to local councils mean that libraries may be threatened with closure again. Proposed are cuts to opening times and staffing which would impact on services offered in what also acts as a local social hub.
The Library Support Group intends to fight; there is an open meeting on Saturday 20/1/24 from 2 - 4pm upstairs at Alexandra Park Library.

Hi all, don't know how many people have seen this, above is the link, next meeting organised by the Support Alexandra Park Library is Saturday 3rd, 14-16pm
Good morning all, I have only seen the notice for this meeting 5 minutes ago from the 'Latest News' weekly email. Unfortunately I hava a prior committment and I am unable to change at this short notice but will try to join the last half hour. In addition to the petition myself and my group will have a chance to raise this issues in several circumstances, and as a local Councillor and resident/library user I clearly intend to support the Group representation. So if I cannot make it on time please get in touch and do keep me in the loop and let me know how I can support further,
Alessandra
Hi Colin, can't make the open meeting, but please could you let us know how we can make representation to Haringey - I have already responded to the wider Council Tax consultation.
I think there is more information and possibly a petition in each of the local libraries.
There is a more general and somewhat cumbersome consultation in “Commonplace” – see: https://haringeybudget2024.commonplace.is/
Also, the Lib Dems have started a petition – see: https://www.haringeylibdems.org.uk/news/article/lib-dems-launch-lib...
Great, thanks very much, Colin.
