Hi all - The Alexandra Transport and Travel Review survey report has been published. The report confirms - unsurprisingly -  what you have all highlighted for years and I, and past Councillors, have raised consistently with Haringey officers and Cabinet members. My understanding is that potential solutions will be part of further engagement with residents although it is not clear there is dedicated funding for these.

The report highlights how some interventions are being considered like a bus priority scheme, which is part of a London-wide initiative extending beyond Haringey and a review of the 184 bus route.
  • With respect to the bus lane I mentioned raising this with officers a couple of years ago, this would be along Alexandra Park Road, Albert Road and Durnsford Road, and the last response I have received officers have confirmed that a proposal design is being drafted and will be presented to Cabinet and if Cabinet agrees discussed with ward Councillors informing them of the proposals and next steps.
  • With respect to the 184 bus route, gridlocks in the Palace Gate Road area are well known. I understand from queries done last month that the Traffic Calming team will be reviewing the 184 bus route in the next financial year to see what improvements can be made as part of the Alexandra Transport and Travel Review. Funding for the work has been provisionally allocated in the Street for People Investment Plan which will be going to Cabinet for June approval. Following the feasibility study any changes for the route will be subject of engagement with residents.
I will try to find put more and continue pressing for concrete solutions. Please get in touch if you have any comment or query
