Dear neighbours,

I'm honoured to have been elected as a councillor. It is a great privilege to serve my community!

Thank you to every Alexandra Park resident who opened their door to us and shared their concerns and hopes for the community we all love.

We are already working tirelessly to ensure every resident feel supported, respected, and heard by their local authority, irrespective of how they voted. That's why in my first few weeks as councillor, I have already made several members inquiries (M E), about issues such as damp and mould, on behalf of our neighbours in social housing, as well as other issues such as planning related matters, traffic, fly tipping, and neighbourhood safety raised by residents across Alexandra Park. I have also attended various training sessions at the council to help me be an effective councillor.

Last week, I participated in the Green Flag inspection of O.R Tambo Recreation Ground, where I met with the external judge, the council's parks and climate change team and the management of the Pavillion Cafe.

While I'm confident that our local park will retain its green flag status due to the hard work of all involved, I believe there's always room for improvement. I had meaningful discussions with the park team and highlighted areas that needs improvements: additional lighting to make the park safer for all, but especially for children and women in the dark winter months, additional benches, outdoor gym in the wooden area, and repair of the broken door locks in the playground and nature reserve as well as a sign in the nature reserve informing residents that dogs are not allowed inside the nature reserve.

My council email address is aj.egemonye@haringey.gov.uk

For Cllr Melanie: melanie.gingell@haringey.gov.uk

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us about any local issue or ideas to improve our lovely community. I'm here to serve you as your councillor.

We are liaising with the council's democratic services, to set up our surgeries which will commence in June 2026.

Location: Alexandra Park Library on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.

Time: 12pm - 1pm.

We are also setting up Repairs surgeries within our social housing estates where disrepair remains a major issue. And also a ward tour with council officers to support residents and our local community.

Have a nice day,

Cllr AJ Egemonye.
