31180651688?profile=RESIZE_710xLast week, I met with the council’s Parks Zonal Manager and the Friends of Bluebell Wood yesterday for a walk through the wood and an inspection of the hard assets. It was also a great opportunity to share ideas and discuss plans for improvements.
We spoke about the issues affecting the wood, including but not limited to:

  • Updating the notice board (as budget becomes available).
  • Engaging the Golf Course regarding boundary works.
  • Ancient wood bank restoration ideas.
  • Review of the boundary with Blake Road re the alley way
  • Review of boundaries, encroachment and desire lines.
  • Reaching out to local Nurseries about their Forest School activities  et cetera.

and it was encouraging to hear about the management plan they’re developing and the fantastic work already going on to protect and care for this ancient woodland.

I look forward to working with them to protect and preserve Bluebell Wood for future generations.
On my way out, I bumped into a group of children from a local daycare, out with their teachers exploring the wood and absolutely loving it.

Have a lovely weekend!

Cllr AJ.
