From Alexandra Palace:

Alexandra Palace will be closed to the public until the New Year.  The Park will remain open.

However, it may be necessary to close Alexandra Palace Way overnight at short notice in the coming weeks, as we did in July and November 2020, if we see rising levels of antisocial behaviour, such as failure of visitors to observe social distancing, dangerous driving and continued illegal and dangerous parking.

We can confirm that, as in previous years, we will be closing Alexandra Palace Way on 31 December 2020.  The closure of the road is to help prevent the antisocial behaviour, damage to the Palace and Parkland and to reduce potential disturbance for our neighbours.

  • The road will be closed at 2100 hrs on 31 December and will reopen at 0200hrs on New Year’s Day
  • The W3 bus will have access through the road during the closure
  • The Police will support the on-site security team, dependent on available resources
  • Only the road will be closed, pedestrian access points will not be affected
  • Only blue badge holders will be allowed through the barrier by our security personnel on AP Way and the East car park

Notices are already on the road and in the car parks to raise awareness of the closure in advance.

We would appreciate it if you could help to communicate to your families/ neighbours/ constituents so that they are aware of the closure.  It is important to mention that this closure is not caused by an event that the Palace is organising. The Trust does not organise any events on New Year’s Eve and none of our facilities are open.
