Cllr Liz McShane and I are dismayed that Great Northern Rail and Network Rail have once again closed the gate on the footbridge at Alexandra Palace Station.  We had hoped lessons had been learned from last year.  As is so often the case, there will need to be a campaign to persuade them to listen to the local community.  Liz and I will be launching a petition and seeking a meeting.  In the meantime, we would strongly encourage local people to make their feelings known by e-mail and by social media.  If you have any further thoughts about this, please e-mail me at james.patterson@haringey.gov.uk.

  • We have requested a public meeting with GNR so waiting for them to get back to us with dates. Once a date has been confirmed we will post the info on APN.

  • What!!!! For the last couple of days I've gone to work via tube rather than via Alexandra Palace station, so I didn't know this had happened until I saw this post. Agree we need to fight this and I'm glad to hear about the petition. Hope lots of people use email and social media to voice their concerns/outrage.

    • It has caused quite a few problems today. Liz and I are launching our petition tomorrow. We will subsequently seek a meeting with GNR. However, I think it is vital the strength of local feeling is conveyed to them by e-mail and on social media. The Twitter campaign hashtag is #allypallygate.
