Compost Giveaway NOT this Sunday ..... rescheduled

Sustainable Haringey have had to cancel the Compost Giveaway this Sunday because Ally Pally double booked!

However people will be able to get compost on the following dates:

Monday 18^th April 7am to 7pm

Tuesday 19^th April 7am to 7pm

Sunday 24^th April 10am to 3pm

The compost will be in the Fairground Car Park. Take road (nearly opposite Garden Centre) to Paddock Car Park and keep on (see map attached).

There won’t be stewards there on Monday and Tuesday so it is your responsibility to drive and park carefully, etc. We assume that by being open twelve hours each day there won’t be the crowd build up that we normally have for a Sunday event.

Remember you will need to load your own compost so bring strong bags and shovels.

(In my opinion) There is never sufficient Compost for the Spring Compost Giveaway it always runs out early. There is always too much compost for Autumn Compost Giveaway - there is always stuff left over. More people want compost in the Spring than the Autumn.

  Also, it apparently was delivered on Sunday after all, and people were taking it away, albeit from a restricted. area. So some miscommunication there?

Compost has all gone! I went to get some around 3.30pm today – don't know when it ran out. Does anyone know whether there's any more anywhere?

  Apologies sent by Sustainable Haringey - there will not be any left for next Sunday, as advertised. Next date for Al.Park is 2nd October! For dates for giveaways in neighbouring boroughs, see the Eco Park website http://www.londonwaste.co.uk/.

  Thanks for the link, Annabel. Compost is available to buy from the Western Road N22 recycling centre (30 litre bag for £3).
  
  Yes, compost was there on Sunday and some people did collect it (some friends of mine saw people shovelling compost on Sunday).
