Hi all, a proposal for a bus lane is being consulted until the end of the month.
The proposal stretches from Alexandra Park Road at the junction with Colney Hatch Lane, to Bounds Green station:
Eastbound: In the direction heading towards Bounds Green Station, a bus lane would be added between the junction with Clifton Road (by OR Tambo Rec) up to the bridge over the railway line, before a break, and then a further stretch after the junction with Woodfield Way.
Westbound: A stretch of bus lane would be added heading in the direction of Colney Hatch Lane between Curzon Road and Colney Hatch Lane.
Timings: The bus lanes would operate Mon-Sat, 4pm-7pm.
The design indicates the removal of a significant amount of parking to facilitate these proposals, some of which will be removed entirely and some prohibited during the hours the bus lanes are in operation. This will not only have an impact on local residents and visitors on the roads where parking is to be removed, but also on the side roads, which will now have to try and accommodate the displaced vehicles.
Haringey Council is also proposing changing some of the zebra crossing points along the road, some of which have only recently been installed or changed, to signalised crossings. The no right turn from Crescent Rise to Dunsford Road will be retained but the islands there removed.
