All - I have mentioned that for quite some time that following requests on the doorsteps I have included in the Highway Maintenance Plan for the ward a request for a zebra crossing Palace Gate Road, N22, either close to the junction with Bedford Road or the juction between Palace Gate Road and Crescent Road, to allow a safe point to cross on the other side of the road and get to/from Bedford Road and railway station.

Officers have confirmed that they will start consulting soon on a proposal for a zebra crossing in Palace Gate Road, adjiacent numbers 7/7A in Palace Gate Road. Note that this will require the relocation of the bike hanger from outside n16 to n18

12700044698?profile=RESIZE_710xConsultation should be open until 14th of August, and all households within the area below should receive a consultation letter from the 10th July. If you are not on the consultation area but would like to comment please send your comment to me at alessandra.rossetti@haringey.gov.uk or to frontline.consultation@haringey.gov.uk

Also some of you have raised with me the issue of a traffic survey being done in Palace Gate Road while there were roadworks due to a pipe burst just around the corner.  Officer have confirmed that the automatic traffic counter (ATC) was installed as part of  a crossing assessment associated with the zebra crossing. As part of the assessment, pedestrian surveys using cameras will also be undertaken on two weekdays and a Saturday.Since the works are near the survey location, they may have an effect on the traffic and pedestrian movements in Palace Gate Road and therefore officers will arrange for the assessment to be repeated once the road works are completed.
