Georgia Elliott-Smith has been heavily involved in co-ordinating community action against the new Edmonton incinerator.
As explained below and in the link, she's now challenging the irrational exclusion of incineration from the demands of new carbon emissions policy.
The QC who led the successful challenge to the 3rd runway at Heathrow, David Wolfe, will be leading in this case
Georgia says: Brexit means the UK government is rewriting environmental policies, but incineration is excluded from the new UK Emissions Trading Scheme, a crucial way to manage and reduce CO2. Ignoring incineration – simply because it’s cheaper – will be disastrous.
Worth a look, I think. I've made a small pledge.

Thanks, Stephen, I've made a pledge.
I didn't know that the 48 waste incinerators currently functioning in the UK emit as much carbon as the whole of Birmingham and Manchester put together ! As Georgia says, I guess they are usually hidden away in poorer, industrial parts of the country, such as Edmonton.
