Dora has gone missing

Fluffy black-and-white cat, plumpish and not particularly young, has skidaddled again. She has done this and returned before, but her owner is moving house, so is worried that Dora may return after she has moved. The packing, and perhaps a neighbour's builders, seem to have alarmed her. Friendly but quite timid, she does not have a collar but is chipped, and our local vet knows her. I may have a photo to add to this post later on. Please get in touch if you think you may have seen her.

  • That's great news!

Plus it's good that she is microchipped, if only everyone were so sensible! Remember to update the microchip company with owner's new address/contact details when moves home.

General advice for cat owners is that Animal Rescue charities like The Scratching Post recommend that pets are microchipped and neutered. Cats enjoy catflap access to a back garden, and it's best to lock the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured.

  • Panic over - Dora has reappeared already!
