Hi all - many of you will have started receiving a letter from the Council about the introduction of parking arrangements. The difficulty in finding parking and the additional traffic created by drivers using the area to park and get on the shuttle buses for Tottenham Stadium or events in Ally pally has been raised several times with officers and the Council has agree to consult residents on the issue.

The Council is proposing to introduce parking controls that will prioritise parking for residents when events (sports or entertainment) are taking place at Alexandra Palace or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The event day operational times will be matching those used in other areas of the borough (Monday to Friday 5pm to 8.30pm, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 12 noon to 8pm) and would only be enforced when an event is taking place at Alexandra Palace or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The area proposed for parking controls during event days cover all roads that are currently within the existing Alexandra Palace (AP) controlled parking zone (CPZ) as well as several neighbouring streets ( See picture).

In particular:

  • For roads within Alexandra Palace CPZ, the proposed Event Day controls would sit alongside existing parking arrangements and parking on event days will be free for those residents who hold an Alexandra Palace (AP) CPZ permit.
  • Residents living in the Alexandra Palace (AP) CPZ who do not have a parking permit would need to purchase one to be able to park on the road during event day controls and will also be able to park during the current CPZ hours.
  • For roads not in the existing Alexandra Palace CPZ, the Council is not planning to introduce daily CPZ controls or extend the current Alexandra Palace (AP) CPZ boundary. Residents will have to apply for a parking permit, but this will be FREE of charge.
