A fire near the Paddocks car park (near Ally Pally Way) broke out at 12.40am on Thursday 23 July, and firefighters only managed to contain it at about 3pm. Ally Pally Way was closed, and the W3 bus was on diversion.

MyLondon reports:

Around half an acre of compost and garden waste was involved in the fire. There were no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. It prompted six fire engines carrying around 40 firefighters, who had to use one of the Brigade's Terrain Support Vehicles, which was sent to the scene to support firefighting operations.
