French Language Meetup?

I would like to improve my rusty and very limited French and have heard about 'meetups' where a group of people get together to practise conversation in a foreign language but I am not exactly sure how they work. Would anyone be interested in setting one up locally?

  • Is this group still running? I'd love to join, if so (French v rusty, not used since o level). Where and when does it meet?
    • Hi Jo<br />
      I suspect not. I attended a few times in 2015 and heard from one of the others about the excellent free Duolingo which allows you to practice spoken and written French on your own. Should tide you over till you find a group.
    • Thanks Julia,

      I'll check it out - sounds like a good way to brush up on my spoken French.

      All the best

      Jo

  • I may not get to the 18th April session as I am trying to throw off a feverish cough/cold/throat.

    Did any of you see my note on the French Group part of APN website suggesting we use that part of APN for our messages?  We can discuss this when we are all there again.

    • I plan to attend today.
  • I'll be missing the 11th April session as I now have to be somewhere else. Hope to see you all on the 18th.
  • Hi Kirsty,

    I will be there for the 11th. Look forward to it.

  •  The next meeting of the French conversation group will be on Saturday 11 April at 4 o'clock in Owen's on Alexandra Park Road.

  • Hello everyone, it was good to meet up this afternoon. This is the website that I was talking about  you can switch between English and French as you please;
