Prom #3 on Sunday 16th July starts at 2pm with Baritone Stephen Brice, coincidentally Chair of the Pinkham Way Alliance, who led hundreds of PWA supporters to the Civic Centre before speaking to Haringey Cabinet earlier in this week. Will his singing be even better than his presentation? Will anyone listen this time? Will he draw even more to Broomfield Park than turned up at Haringey Civic Centre? How does singing in a major opera house compare with the grasses of Broomfield Park? Come along, support him and PWA and find out.

Prom #4 CANCELLED
With Friday seeing a month’s worth of rain in one day and more heavy rain forecast for most of Sunday the final Prom has unfortunately been cancelled due to ground waterlogging of the G2 grounds and general safety concerns. Mairi Armstrong and the Forest Band will hopefully be available for 2016 in what the Friends of Broomfield Park hope will be a continuation after 2015’s successful trial of “Proms in the Park”.
Much thanks goes to all those who have supported, performed and attended over the previous three weeks. Any specific comments to consider in planning 2016 can be sent to the Friends at secretary@friendsofbroomfieldpark.org
Friends of the Park continue their summer extravaganza on music with next weeks return of the first of five consecutive Sundays of Broomfield Blues in conjunction with St Harmonicas Blues Club. Open mic performances starts at 1:30 before :-
2:30 – 3:30 Graham Hine, slide guitarist with the legendary Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts and Blue Goose recording artist
3:45 – 5:30 Martin Fieber, the ‘Sultan of Slide’, perhaps the UK’s best kept slide guitar secret. He comes with his hugely talented band ‘The Customtones’.
