'Two-thirds of the St Ann’s Hospital site is due to be sold for a private housing development with only 14% of the homes classed as “affordable”. St Ann’s Redevelopment Trust (StART) is a group of Haringey residents and workers who want to see the site used for the good of all the local communities. They have put forward a plan which will provide a far higher level of truly affordable, secure, good quality housing for local people, especially those who can’t otherwise afford to stay in Haringey.
The plan will also conserve and enhance the unique physical environment of the site – its trees, wildlife, architecture and archaeology.'
A tour of the site on Sunday 1st October at 11-12.30pm will be led by StART campaigners, providing an opportunity to hear about their plans. Meet: Chestnuts Park Cafe, opposite Hospital main gate, St Ann’s Road, N15 3TH
Their inaugural AGM will be held on Wednesday 20 September at 6.30pm, at Chestnuts School, Black Boy Lane, London N15 3AS. (The venue is accessible to wheelchair users.)
