I’d like to introduce myself properly on this forum. I’m Melanie Gingell and I’m delighted to have been elected as one of your councillors for Alexandra Park Ward. I've lived and worked in Haringey for many years and before becoming a councillor I was barrister specialising in legal aid crime and family law. I've also worked in international human rights law including teaching and research and, with a more London focus, done casework in Lambeth and Southwark.
I am Chair of the Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust and a member of Haringey Planning Committee.
Both Cllr Egemonye and I have already addressed a lot of casework concerning housing, street safety and maintenance, refuse collection, community safety, and the upkeep and improvement of our green spaces. If there are any issues that affect you directly or that are of concern in the neighbourhood, please do get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
