Help Wanted: CUFOS Administrator (part-time)

Help Wanted: CUFOS Administrator (part-time)

CUFOS (Community Use For the Old Station) is a community centre located at the top of The Avenue, right by Alexandra Palace. CUFOS is run as a charity overseen by its trustees with the help of volunteers and a paid administrator.

We are now seeking a new administrator, someone who will help ensure that this unique community asset, which has been running for more than 30 years, is maintained and developed so that it can continue successfully into the future.

The administrator would be responsible for managing all bookings at the building, maintaining the calendar, logging rent payments, taking minutes at meetings, updating the website, and other duties. This is a part-time position – no more than 40 hours per month – and the duties are mostly performed from home. However, it sometimes requires going to the building to carry out certain tasks, so unless you live within walking distance, some form of transport is required.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Sufficient technological skills to make website changes
- Proficiency in English written and oral communications
- Organised; able to handle detailed clerical work
- Self-motivated: able to work independently
- Quick-thinking: able to learn tasks rapidly, react to situations instantly, and create new working methods as needed

The job is ideal for anybody who wants to work from home and has enough flexibility to be able to get to the building when necessary. This is a great opportunity to make a difference by assisting in the running of our centre, which is so valuable to the community.

The position will pay £12 an hour for the first two months, thereafter rising to £14 an hour. If you are interested in applying, please write to Elin at
