Dear neighbours, the council will be commencing the annual process of identifying highways maintenance and improvement schemes for inclusion in the 2027/28 Highways Works Programme.
As local representatives, we've been asked for suggestions for roads, footways, street lighting, drainage, accessibility improvements, and any other highway-related maintenance or improvement works that you believe should be considered.
We'll want to collaborate with residents on this and will be carrying out an online survey soon. Please share in your street WhatsApp groups. You can also submit your proposals directly to me via email: aj.egemonye@haringey.gov.uk and Cllr Gingell Melanie.gingell@haringey.gov.uk before 2 October 2026.
When providing suggestions, it would be helpful if you could include:
- The road name and, where relevant, the specific section of the road (for example, between house numbers 12 and 24).
- The type of work required (for example, carriageway resurfacing, footway repairs, drainage improvements, street lighting, accessibility enhancements, or other highway-related works).
- A brief description of the issue and the improvement required. Photographs may also be provided where available.
Please note that if you become aware of an urgent highway issue that presents an immediate safety risk, this should be reported through the Council’s reporting system rather than through this process.
All proposals received will be assessed by the Highways Maintenance team. Prioritisation will primarily be based on asset condition, risk, network needs, available funding, and alignment with the Council’s asset management objectives. While we will carefully consider all submissions, we may not be able to include every request within the programme due to finite resources.
