Homemade deodorant recipe

After trying a few, this is the one that works best for me:

3 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp cocoa or shea abutter
1 tbsp beeswax pellets
3 tbsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tbsp arrowroot powder (optional)
essential oils of your choice

Melt the first 3 in a double boiler. Get off the heat, mix bicar & arrowroot. Mix in essential oils. Pour into container. Let set and use.

  • I don't think I can edit the post anymore but I should have said this recipe makes about 120ml so you you can choose a suitable container.

  • Thanks very much for these recipes, Ana!  I'll be really interested in trying this one in particular, and the degreaser.

    • You're welcome. Let me know what you think when you try them :)

  • For me, it works just as well as the one I was using before from the shops. I use it just like any other cream deodorant, I take a little bit and rub it into my underarms. I store it at room temperature in a glass jar.

    • Interesting - thank you Ana.

    • You're welcome, Susie :)

  • Do you find that this works even on hot days? And how do you apply and store it?
