I understand that the local area forums are being abolished - to be ratified soon by Haringey Council - does anyone know anything further about this? The Alexandra, Muswell Hill, Highgate and Fortis Green forum has been a very useful place in which to find out about the Council's plans for this area, and comment on them.

Maybe some would be better attended if more streamlined and shorter in duration - I find them too long and too diverse in topics they cover and it is usually only one thing I go for. But I think them most useful for involving local community and will miss them.
Apparently they were abolished in Islington some time ago, because of the administrative costs.
It's true, the main justification being that poor attendance for most of most of them (the Muswell Hill Forum is popular) - source Councillor Bob Hare (who is against the abolision).
Any that I have been to have always been very well attended
