Just as North London councils are about to decide (on Thursday) whether to go ahead with plans to rebuild and enlarge the Incinerator at Edmonton, the all-party parliamentary group on air pollution has published a report saying that all plans to expand incinerator provision in the UK should be halted immediately, to protect human health and cut carbon emissions. The image is of yesterday's action by members of campaigning groups Extinction Rebellion, Black Lives Matter, and Stop the Edmonton Incinerator, who blocked the access roads to the plant in Advent Way, preventing lorries carrying waste from entering the site, as well as blocking access to construction vehicles which are beginning preparatory work to rebuild the site.
