I have been in touch with Cllr Stuart McNamara, Cabinet Member for Environment, and he is happy to meet with residents in early July to discuss issues and concerns around traffic & crossings.

Once the date/time and venue have been confirmed, I will post the information  on here.

Rgds,

Liz

  • Hello there
Sorry I've only just joined the site and am sorry to have missed this meeting. What was said and is there any progress? I'm on Albert Road and we all worry over the speed of cars zipping through due to the very ineffective speed bumps which don't account for parks cars
    • Hi Adam. I went on the walkabout. We also walked along Albert Road. I outlined the issues (pertaining to Albert Road) to Cllr McNamara; speeding traffic, volume of traffic, commercial vehicles and lorries using Albert Road as a rat run and the fact that the vast majority of through traffic is all going in the same direction I.e it is 'funnelled' along Albert Road.
I have been trying for years to get these issues looked at by the council. (As have other residents and the Residents Association) the more of us who contact the council the more it will force the issue. Email your concerns to Michael.demosthenous@haringey.gov.uk. Frontline@haringey.gov.uk
Ask your neighbours to do the same.
    • Thanks very much Richard, will do and will let all neighbours know too.
    • Hi Adam,

It was a good session. Cllr McNamara spent around an hour with residents and walked along Crescent Road, Victoria Road and back to The Triangle. I unfortunately had to leave early for a 7.30 pm Allly Pally Committee meeting.

It seems to have been a good interactive discussion and he listened to lots of issues that people raised. He will raise these issues with council officers and identify which list of actions can be progressed. He will keep in regular contact with local residents on this.

      Rgds,

      Liz

    • Thanks so much for letting us know. Fingers crossed. Do add us to any list of people you might need to spread the word about anything related to this
  • Hi Liz

Any update on when this meeting is likely to happen?

    Thanks

    Grant
