31181492660?profile=originalFollowing a detailed investigation across multiple teams, the council's highway and traffic service have established that the information boards informing residents about a planned road works and parking suspensions along Princes Ave and Albert Road were installed in Error.

No works have been approved to take place on said roads this week. Gully emptying and carriageway resurfacing works are planned for Princes Avenue but this won't commence until mid-July.

This error by the traffic service has understandably caused distress to residents. The service has claimed the situation has arisen due to "a breakdown in communication between their officers and the contractor, resulting in the boards being installed at the incorrect location or displaying incorrect dates". I have asked the Highway and Traffic service to make arrangements to remove the boards immediately to prevent further confusions and distress, and to send apology letters to residents.

We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that they're removed as soon as possible, ideally tonight! and that apology is offered to affected residents. Sorry for any inconveniences.
