Annual spring litter pick 10th and 11th April

Recent edge vegetation clearance has exposed a lot of rubbish and with plants beginning to shoot we have a brief window of opportunity to tackle the rubbish that is away from the path.

We plan to hold litter pick events at the following times and locations over next weekend.

Saturday 10.00 - 12.00 Stroud Green
Meeting at the Oxford Road entrance and working towards Stapleton Hall Road bridge

Saturday 14.00 - 16.00 Stroud Green
Meeting at Stapleton Hall Road bridge and working towards Crouch End

Sunday 10.00 - 12.30 Muswell Hill
Meeting at the underpass on Muswell Hill and working towards Cranley Gardens

Sunday 14.00 - 16.00 Crouch End
Meeting at the platforms at Crouch Hill under the footbridge and working towards Highgate

Note to volunteers
Please bring your own thick gardening gloves and sanitising hand gel if you can. We will supply gloves to those who don't have them along with litter picking tools and bags. Please wear strong boots and be prepared for any weather conditions forecast.

Additional guidelines
Wear gloves at all times.
Don’t handle needles.
Look carefully at where you are placing your hands and feet.
Be aware of branches at eye height.
Work up slopes not down.
Work with at least one other.
Don’t get bogged down with heavy/buried items.
Broken glass should be collected in a box.
Waste bags should be left by bins.
Wash hands before handling food.
Please comply with all Covid regulations as required.

Recycling: Items are only recyclable if they are fresh and clean and the only sure way to get items into the recycling process is to add them to your home waste.
