Hi all , Haringey is consulting about speed reduction measures on Alert Road and Durnsford Road as part the Road Danger Reduction Action Plan and Investment Plan for 2022-23. In Durnsford Road in particular it has been found that, In several instances, the 85th percentile speed was around 30mph while the mean speed was around 24mph. The Council is consulting to:
· Introduce raised tables within the proposed 20mph zone
· raise existing zebra crossing outside No.57
· raise existing zebra crossing near No.147, remove central island and extend zig zag markings
· New road markings and signage

Speeding is an issue in the road, but I am also aware for correspondence and doorsteps conversations with many of you that this is not the only issue on Durnsford Road. I have therefore asked Haringey to take a more coordinated approach and rather than introducing piecemeal measures, and to look at the whole stretch of road to design a solution that in addition to these measures would tackle traffic and pollution and would include priority lanes for public transport and cyclists. Please do let me know if you share such concerns and approach if you take part in the consultation and email Haringey. The consultation is open until the 18th of January.
