8804035677?profile=RESIZE_400xDear All,

I and others are going to write to Louise Stewart, CEO of Ally Pally, thanking her for allowing the W3 bus through passage along Alexandra Palace Way on several occasions when it has been closed to other traffic over the past year - during bonfire week, around Christmas and New Year's Eve, and on other occasions.

In the past when the road has been closed during events at the Palace the bus route has been suspended along with all the rest of the traffic, and I and others have often written to her asking if this is strictly necessary - in particular, on New Year's Eve, when otherwise people are encouraged to use buses throughout London by making the overnight services free (at a meeting with local people to discuss proposed changes in the Palace and Park not long ago, she clearly had something relevant in mind because she started the meeting standing next to a large pic of the W3 bus!).

The W3 route provides an excellent service*, and it is unusable for people in this area when this part is suspended (always between Wood Green and Crouch End), and there is always inadequate signage warning people of the suspension. So as a change from complaining (!), I am going to write to thank her, adding the names and road names of various friends and acquaintances who would also like to do this. Please let me know if you would like me to add your name too.

*Referred to by blogger busandtrainuser as 'one of my favourite London bus routes... famous for its breathtaking top deck views across London as buses pass in front of Ally Pally'. This particular blog post is actually about Parkland Walk - an excellent and very well-illustrated account, together with some interesting comments.
