Hi all - I have attended a briefing during the weekend from the Transport Planning team in Haringey Council about the Local Area Management Plan for events held at the Tottenham stadium. Officers were asking Councillors for feedback around events and I have raised the issue of the impact these events can have in our ward, especially in the areas closer to the shuttle busses pick up, Crescent Road, Palace Gate Road, Bedford Road and Alexandra Park Road, due to the fact that several residents drive and park in the area to get on the buses, creating congestions before and after the events. Myself and past Councillors have raised this before but the issue has now become more pressing due to the fact that the parking at Ally Pally is not free any longer.  Due to the Covid impact monitoring of the implementation of the Local Area Event Plan has only resumed in the past couple of years and officers are looking for feedback to improve how these are managed. It has been acknowledged that ''Local area' for these events may be beyond Tottenham and that the operation of the shuttle buses should also be looked at. In the past I have asked for parking control for non residents for events day in Ally Pally and Tottenham, and many of you provided feedback in a survey that was presented and discussed with the Highway Team. Following to this officers have agreed to consult on events day management in Ally Pally at the beginning of next year. It is still tbc if this will include Tottenham events. The briefing was organised by another team but I will present the same survey results hoping the area could be looked at so that impact from all events can be managed. During the briefing there's also been suggestions of formally engage local residents, including Alexandra Park ward, via Commonplace or a consultation, but there's no budget allocated so officers will think how to do it. In the meantime I would be grateful if you could provide comments and feedback around impact or any other aspect of events in Tottenham so I can share it with officers. Many thanks!
