Triangle Tree Lights

Hi All,

I know we may be waiting for emerging plans for a possible new Residents Association in the absence of any continuation/revival of the PGRA. Meanwhile, it's a bit sad (and dark) with no fairy lights on the Triangle trees as they used to have. Having asked around a bit, apparently the old sets might be worn out now, but great if they aren't and somebody has them? Otherwise I'd be happy to buy a couple of long sets and batteries and light up the main tree or both trees, if anyone could help with a large ladder? Not too expensive, but even better if people are happy to chip in.

Do let me know. More than happy to get the lights and battery, get up a ladder, help/lead with fixing etc.

Thanks,

Michael

  • Many thanks for donations so far! Really brilliant.

I'm aiming to order the sets soon and put them up next weekend. Will advertise a date.

A few more donations would enable us to get great sets for all the trees:

  • Hello All,

Thank you so much all for offering to chip in!

I've done a Gofundme, as that worked really well for the bench. Could people chip in here please?

    Thank you!

When we've got enough in there I'll buy them, and advertise a date to put them up (thanks, Jake!) - hopefully this weekend or soon after.

  • Also happy to contribute £10, what about asking shops to contribute/sponsor too to boost funds and hopefully mean getting decent ones that last. Solar option is a good idea.

  • Nice idea, happy to chip in and lend a hand depending when you need it. Great if we can get solar that will last.

  • Happy to chip in £20 for Xmas lights. How can I get it to you?

  • Update: in the absence of any other action, I'll probably buy a 40m set for the main tree, for about £30, I think, and put up over the next week or so. Any help financial or practical welcome!

    • Happy to make a contribution, but can I suggest solar lights rather than battery powered ones.

    • Thanks, Susie!

Do you know any solar which work well? I've found that the more affordable solar tend to be pretty ropey, but great if there are good ones you or other know of?

I think the old PGRA sets were pretty extensive and pricey. I was thinking max £40ish for really big sets, though more people chipping in, the better!

    • Michael I'm happy to do some research into this so we get a set that really last. Will be in touch pronto!

    • Thanks for the suggestion and I'm happy to chip in.
