All - not sure if this has already been mentioned somewhere else, in case apologies for the duplication. I thought it would be useful to know that Haringey have agreed to extend their current waste consultation to the 29th January so if you have yet to take part there is still time. The consultation questionnaire indicates that the borough could change recycling and green waste collections from weekly to every fortnight, and general waste collections from every fortnight to every three weeks. Additional changes to street cleaning, splitting recycling up and much more is also included, so is very important to respond. Here is the link: https://www.haringey.gov.uk/environment-and-waste/refuse-and-recycling/shaping-our-waste-and-cleansing-services-survey
There will be also in person events at the following locations in January:
- Highgate Library
Wednesday 25 January 2023, 3pm to 5pm - Marcus Garvey Library
Friday 27 January 2023, 11am to 1pm - Stroud Green and Harringay Library
Tuesday 17 January 2023, 2pm to 4pm
Monday 23 January 2023, 9.30am to 11.30am - Wood Green shopping centre (upper floor by the escalator outside Primark)
Wednesday 25 January 2023, 11am to 3pm

Haringey are asking for opinions about street gritting (see tweet below). One thing we really need in this hilly neighbourhood is pavement gritting! Snowy - and even frosty - pavements prevent the elderly and disabled from going out, and are a problem for others as well. It would really be worth bringing this up - via the online questionnaire, and/or at an in-person event (in Wood Green Mall tomorrow Weds 25th - see above).
