Mercedes Maresca (piano)

Mercedes Maresca is from Argentina and has been based in London since 1999. She is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and improviser. Mercedes has created Raices project, a collection of small albums that explores her South American roots and her deep connection with the sound world of Spiritual Jazz. She will be performing an improvised set based on her recently released EP Gotas de Colores and her upcoming album Caminos (Raices Project)

In her own words these short pieces are "Pensamientos del alma", thoughts of the soul.

Ezequiel Ajie (Upright bass/electric bass)

Ezekiel Ajie is a talented Upright bass/electric bass player known for his versatile playing style and dynamic performances. With a deep understanding of rhythm and harmony, he seamlessly blends various genres, including jazz, funk, and Afrobeat, to create captivating grooves.

Special Guest - Drummer/Conga player Kevin Peverdy will join Mercedes and Ezequiel on the second set with an energetic jazz/Fusion  improvisation. Set two will start with percussion duo Kevin on congas and Mercedes on Bongos, and still keeps the focus of their music - an exploration of my South American Roots.

🪩 London Vegan Mixer is a fabulously fun night at Karamel, where we'll take over the entire venue to socialise and enjoy food, drinks, and great performances.

🎸 During the first part of the evening, some of our regulars will play live, and they're always happy for other musicians to join them on stage.

🧑‍🎤 Starting around 9 PM, KaraoChris will host karaoke for the rest of the event: sign up to sing your heart out!

🤤 The venue has a 100% vegan kitchen and bar. They're kindly hosting us for free, so please make sure to buy some of their delicious food and drinks to show your support.

🤗 All are welcome, and we strive to make the event a safe and inclusive space for everyone: no discriminatory or abusive behaviour of any kind will be tolerated. Please let the hosts know if you or others feel uncomfortable because of an attendee.

Stan Brunt Trio

Stan Brunt is an award-winning Jazz Guitarist, Arranger, and Composer who is currently an active professional working in and around Greater London. Having started playing in Leeds in community bands including Chapel FM Jazz Collective, he developed his skills over the next few years and recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music.

Stan Brunt is the most recent winner of the Richard Turner Award, a prestigious prize offered to those from the northern area of England. He has, in his time at RAM, worked with many world-renowned composers and musicians, including Will Vinson, Orlando LeFleming, Ingrid Jensen, Gwilym Simcock, and more. Now he is leading a new project which explores the space created by having just guitar as the chordal instrument, focusing heaving on improvisation and textural changes. This new band have played together around London and are creating a very individual group sound that is not to be missed.

Stan is joined by Will Sach on bass and Kai Macrae on drums.
