HARINGEY COUNCIL – PUBLIC NOTICE
BOROUGH WIDE – 20MPH SPEED LIMIT
THE HARINGEY (SPEED LIMIT) (NO. *) ORDER 2015
- NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes to make the above mentioned Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
- The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20mph speed limit on all public highway roads in the London Borough of Haringey excepting the following lengths of road:-
(a) red route highway (Transport for London roads)
(b) Great North Road, N2; Fortis Green, N2; Queens Avenue, N10; Muswell Hill, N10; Priory Road, N8; Turnpike Lane, N8; West Green Road, N15, between Green Lanes and Langham Road; Alfoxton Avenue, N15; Westbury Avenue, N22, between the southern end of the bridge and Lordship Lane; Boreham Road, N22; Bounds Green Road, N11/N22 between Pinkham Way and Park Avenue; High Road, N22, between the Enfield Borough boundary and Bounds Green Road; Lordship Lane,N22/N17, between St. Alban’s Crescent and High Road N17; The Roundway, N17; Hale Road, N17; Ferry Lane, N17 and Watermead Way, N17;
(sections of Highgate High Street; Highgate Hill; Mount Pleasant Crescent; and Stroud Green Road; in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington will be included in the 20mph limit).
- Copy of the proposed Order and of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and a plan showing the location and effects of the Order may be inspected during a period of 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published, during normal office working hours at Traffic Management Group, River Park House, 2nd Floor (North), 225 High Road, Wood Green, N22 8HQ or at www.haringey.gov.uk/traffic_orders
- Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order or make other representation should send a statement in writing of either their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to the Traffic Management Group, River Park House, 2nd Floor (North), 225 High Road, Wood Green, N22 8HQ or to traffic.orders@haringey.gov.uk within 21 days of the date on which this Notice is published.

Having a default 20mph speed limit throughout the borough has at least got to be better than the present setup, with motorists expected to lower their speed in small 20mph zones - of course they don't do it!
