We planted 10 young trees in the O.R.Tambo Rec in March this year in addition to the 20+ planted in 2018 both funded by a grant from the Greater London Authority Greener City Fund.
With the extremely hot and dry weather the new trees are looking stressed so we need to water them very regularly to ensure they survive.
Luckily we have a 20 litre pressurised water cart that is kept behind the Pavilion Cafe and this is the most effective and quickest way to get the trees watered.
At present a small group of local people has been taking on the task of keeping the trees alive but as it’s for the benefit of all and for future generations it would be great if we could add new watering volunteers to our WhatsApp group.
It’s physical work but quite fun and very worthwhile.
If anyone is prepared to help we can provide a quick bit of ‘training’ on how to locate and use the watering cart.
If you can help please text Katy: 07775584720 or Kirstie: 07740287315
Many thanks

Yes there is a tap which we can access at any time as Robby has given us a key. The watering cart is kept at the Pavilion and that also can be accessed whenever we need it.
Despite this week’s downpours the ground is still very dry and there’s not much rain forecast.
So we need your help!
Thanks for posting Kirstie - the water cart looks brilliant. Assuming there's an easily accessible outdoor tap at the Pavilion?
