The W3 bus route in Haringey is very popular, linking as it does the population centres of Finsbury Park, Stroud Green, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Alexandra Park neighbourhood, Wood Green, and Tottenham, all the way east to Northumberland Park. It is normally frequent and reliable, crossing the borough without having to go through the snag points that mar some other important routes (though Station Road, Wood Green is getting bad).
However, it is more afflicted than most bus routes by diversions resulting from events in Alexandra Park and Spurs stadium. The W3 Bus Users Group was formed in 2023 to address the lack of adequate information provided by TfL to bus users about bus diversions, and more recently to negotiate with Alexandra Palace about reducing the number of days that the bus is on diversion for major events (often 4 days for diversions for 2-day events).
