The Fireworks Festival is back this year on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November. Just received a detailed leaflet about road and park closures during this event. Presumably those living in streets near the Palace will have also received it, in particular those affected by parking suspensions. Here's some basic info. for those who have not received it:

Alexandra Palace Way will be closed from 8pm on Thursday 2nd, to 7am on Sunday 5th. The W3 bus route between Station Road and Middle Lane will be diverted - presumably along Wood Green High Road and Hornsey High Street as usual. TfL do not seem to know anything about it as yet - nor about the 184 bus, which will presumably also be diverted for a short time on the Friday and Saturday evenings (this isn't mentioned in the leaflet) because:

The road will be closed from Park Avenue, over the railway, to the start of Palace Gates Road, between 9.20-10.20 pm on Friday 3rd and 8.20-9.20pm on Saturday 4th. Traffic will be diverted up Park Avenue and along Bounds Green Road.

Most of the Park will be closed between 8pm on Thursday 2nd and 7am on Sunday 5th, except for:

  • The Grove - will remain open throughout
  • Redston Fields and the Children's Playground (entrance from The Avenue) will be open between 7am and 12noon on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th.

The 'build period' for the event will start on 30th October, and 'there will be minimal disruption to the park during this time'. If you have any problems with noise or other issues connected with this or other events, contact the Palace on 020 8365 2121.

Glad to see that there are no road closures this year during the weekend before the fireworks - the Classic and Sports Car show is not being held at Ally Pally this year.

  • Heard that access will be available to the Garden Centre during Alexandra Palace Way closure although no mention of this in the leaflet.
