This free exhibition explores the untold stories of South Asians whose crucial contribution helped shape the First World War (there were twice as many of them as of Canadians and Australians together). Created by volunteers from across London from images, digital archives and records from the archives, the exhibition reminds us that much of the warfare took place in parts of the world far from the mud and trenches of Europe. At Karamel, 4 Coburg Road N22, until 25th February.

On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December, Muswell Hill town centre will get a taste of France. The authentic “France at Home” market comes straight from Normandy and will be visiting St. James' Square, Muswell Hill, with a selection of delicious foods and quality gifts, fashion, accessories and home wares. The market will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

The Fortismere Community Choir will be singing carols at the Ally Pally Farmers Market, TODAY (11th December) from 1pm to 2pm to help raise funds for the restoration of the amazing Ally Pally Theatre.
The weekly market is on from 10am to 3pm by the Muswell Hill entrance (by Victoria Stakes)
