Hello allCan anyone recommend a carpenter or handyman who would be willing to do a small job please? My friend has brought her father's old dining table all the way back from Italy only to find that she can't get it through her front door! I am presently storing it for her. If the top were taken off the legs, and then put back once it's inside her house all would be well. It's on a sort of double pedestal rather than a leg at each corner, Of great sentimental rather than monetary value. She (and I!) would be very grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.

  • Tessa just wondering whether you might be better off contacting a furniture restorer rather than carpenter for this job? Michael Slade has helped me on several occasions and is very good - tel 07813 377029. He's based in Quernmore Road London N4.
