Thank you Terry. Went to say a final goodbye to Dave's wonderful shop yesterday. It felt very emotional and I'm missing it already.
I think we will all miss it and Dave as well, 38 years long help to the community. At least he is on the road to a recovery and hopefully be out of hospital on the 22nd. It's his 70th birthday on the 26th so we hope he will be well enough for a farewell party on the yard.
Terry what are the plans to celebrate Dave's 70th now gatherings of over 6 are banned? Maybe we could drop birthday cards off at the shop and they will be passed on to him? Like so many of us, I was looking forward to wishing him birthday greetings in person.
Hi Susie, Judy, Daves wife is away in Bristol this weekend visiting their 2nd grand daughter for the first time. When she gets back I'll speak to her, but considering circumstances I would imagine that would be best.
Further news on David, he safely arrived home today, after 170 days in hospital. He still is underweight, but walking well, with assistance from Zimmer frame when needed. It was so good to see my old friend and welcome him home. He will be coming down to the shop at some time, but unfortunately there will be no gathering as such due to current restrictions. Judy will be at the shop still clearing out the remainder of stock and fixings, so anyone wanting to drop a birthday card should post through letterbox, David will be 70 on the 26th September.
Many thanks Terry for the update. I will put a birthday card for Dave through the door of the shop as you suggest. So wonderful to celebrate his 70th birthday!
Thank you so much for this, Terry, that's great news. David must be so relieved to be back home!
