Fringe

So glad to hear (from a neighbouring shopkeeper) that Fringe will be returning to its shop after all this frantic filming is finished, which has taken it over for the past couple of weeks!  I also learned that the new owner will focus less on gifts and more on ordinary sewing-and-knitting, which is great good news.  I hope the profits will be enough from this, however ...

  • Hello - owner of Slipstitch (née Fringe) here. We're all back to normal now - hope we didn't scare people too much with the fake kebab frontage! We've had some lovely deliveries in the last few weeks of new wools and fabrics. We are, as you note, concentrating on haberdashery and crafting supplies and will be getting more fabrics and patterns in over the coming months. Do pop in and see what we're up to!

    • Great!  All the harberdashery shops are closing, and I had to go into the West End for elastic last weekend - would you believe it?

    • Thanks very much for the update and the shop looks great (I dropped in this morning).

  • This is a relief to hear. I'd forgotten that the shop was going to be used as a film set for a while and got a shock when I looked through the windows last weekend.
