DEADLINE FOR OBJECTIONS IS 19TH NOVEMBER
Another planning application has been submitted to build on the ‘Yard’ adjacent to Crescent Road Hardware store in Crescent Road. The plan is to build a flat with a ‘commercial unit’ on the ground floor. Full details of the issues involved can be seen here on the PGRA website http://www.palacegatesra.info/campaigns/.
Dave who runs the hardware store is a stalwart of our community and there is every chance that if planning is approved we will lose a trusted and well used local business as there will be insufficient space for him to operate.
If you wish to comment or object to the development there is a link from the above site, or go directly to www.planningservices.haringey.gov.uk and search for the application HGY/2018/3155

Dave is pretty camera-shy but here he is with a customer.
Dear All, Just wanted to share the article from today's Ham & High featuring the planning decision.
That's brilliant, Nick, great publicity - on the front page ! ... (it doesn't mention that the public gallery was full at the meeting, as well as the 232 written objections)
There was also an article in the Enfield Independent last week.
We (Haringey LibDems) did a press release on this after the planning meeting so glad it has been picked up.
Just gutting that the planning committee approved the application by 7 votes to 1. Thank you Cllr Nick da Costa and Michael Solomon Williams for trying so hard to make the case on behalf of the community. What a night - council gallery chock-full of local residents but such sadness.
Thanks Susie for posting the update. Terribly disappointed with this result, and I’m looking at what out next steps for options are.
It it was really heartwarming to see so many local residents come along to support the objections to the development - and very sad that the planning committtee ignores the passionate pleas from us all.
Hopefully I’ll be able to update everyone with next steps as soon as possible.
Any news of a possible appeal or similar?
Next steps? It would be amazing if we could pull this one back but I don’t see how.
The only thing I can think of would be to buy the land, but I suspect even if we tried to raise the money as a community that would be cost prohibitive.
Yes, we were wondering about a community land trust last night - but as you say, the cost would be prohibitive, particularly now they've got planning permission for development.
