Post offices under threat in Muswell Hill and Crouch End

The post offices in Muswell Hill and Crouch End have been put forward for private franchises and face closure if no one is found to take them on. Petitions have been launched to help save the post offices, and have been backed by over 600 local people and political parties across the spectrum. Apparently 3 post offices are being closed outright while 39 post offices are to be franchised off across the country. You can read more about this dismaying development here.

  I can't believe that they would seriously think of closing a busy post office like the one in Muswell Hill - perhaps they are assuming they will get a purchaser because it is so well used.
