Wonderful news that two of this year's BBC Proms will be staged at the newly refurbished Alexandra Palace Theatre !  Well, almost refurbished - they are not sure how large an audience they will be able to accommodate, so tickets go on sale on 8th June (depends on how much of the work has been completed). Details from the Friends of Alexandra Palace Theatre:

The first Prom is a family Orchestra and Concert at 11 am. This will be followed at 3pm by a Concert performance which will include Gilbert and Sullivan's one act operetta Trial by Jury, conducted by Jane Glover. Trial by Jury is a Victorian comic masterpiece written in 1875, the year that the Alexandra Palace Theatre originally opened. 'Trial by Jury' was actually first performed in the theatre six years later, in 1881.

Further info. and ticket sales on the Proms site for Trial by Jury, and the family concert (booking from 22 June).
